Has anyone been to the new relocated Navy Museum at Changi before??

The last time I visited the Navy Museum was in 2003 which then was still at its old premises in Sembawang Camp..

Found this RSN Museum flyby video (it's been around around for quite some time now)

This is a 3D architectural visualization of the Republic of Singapore Navy Museum.

The museum showcases the history and development of Singapore’s naval forces, from its beginnings as the 1934 Straits Settlement Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves to the present day, Republic of Singapore Navy.

Opened in 1987, it is housed in a pre-World War II building that was used as quarters by the Royal Navy. Re-modeled to resemble the interior of a ship, with narrow walkways and portholes, the building is an unusual but interesting treat for visitors. Exhibits include antique marine equipment, historic photographs, and details of the sophisticated missile corvette vessels of the current Navy.

Military and marine enthusiasts will be captivated by the exhibits at the Republic of Singapore Navy Museum – antique marine equipment, historic photographs, even details of sophisticated, high technology missile corvette vessels.

Since we had the Milnut outing to Singapore Airshow 2010 on 02.02.10 & 03.02.10, how about having an outing to the new Navy Museum which is next to Changi Naval Base??

Anyone been there before??

That would be nice and timely, though it might be crowded if other people have the same idea...

If you are serious and want to do a photo ops, you will go to the CNB RSN museum on other days, it'll be a zoo during the RSN open house.

HTH.

Individual skill is another important factor, argues Professor Bernard Loo, a defence analyst at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. “A half-past-six weapon in the hands of a skilled operator is better than a top-notch weapon in the hands of a half-trained monkey,” he says.
